Syed Qamar Abbas

a distinguished academic and historian, began his career in 1973 as a History Lecturer at the University of Punjab, where he later served as Chairman of the History Department (1999–2001). He mentored M.Phil. and Ph.D. students and retired as Professor in 2005. From 2008 to 2015, he taught as Senior Visiting Professor at Punjab and Beaconhouse Universities and has been affiliated with Govt. College University, Lahore, since 2016. He was thrice elected to the Punjab University Syndicate and contributed to national curriculum reforms. A commentator for PTV, Radio Pakistan, and VOA, he also appeared in a 1992 BBC series. He has published ten research papers, two Pakistan Studies books, and one on Indo-Pak History, reflecting his lifelong dedication to academia and education.
