Saima Jasam – Executive Director
Saima Jasam is a seasoned development professional and peacebuilding specialist with more than 30 years of experience in gender justice, democratization, human rights, Ecology and conflict transformation. She has worked with prominent national and international organizations such as Amnesty International, Heinrich Böll Stiftung, Aurat Foundation, REAT, The Media Foundation, and the Family Planning Association of Pakistan. She currently serves as the Executive Director of Roshan Development Foundation.
An authority on countering violent extremism (CVE), she has developed training manuals and led numerous capacity-building initiatives across South Asia. Her policy and advocacy work has addressed critical issues such as minority rights, women’s empowerment, Climate Change and interfaith harmony.
Ms. Saleem holds advanced degrees in Development Studies and Peace & Conflict Studies from institutions in the Netherlands and Austria.
She is the author of two books— “Honour Shame and Resistance” and “Pakistan from Radicalism to Terrorism”—as well as the research-based study “Shattered Souls.” Her body of work also includes numerous research papers exploring themes of security, media narratives, and political transitions.
She has presented at forums worldwide, conceptualized regional conferences, and contributed to cross-border initiatives on democracy and traditional societies. Her international engagements span Germany, USA, Turkey, Malaysia, and South Asia.
Ms. Saleem is an active member of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, Women Action Forum, and the Women Regional Network. She brings to her work a deep commitment to social justice, inclusive governance, and sustainable peace.
